Malaysia is divided into two parts – peninsular Malaysia and Malaysian Borneo. In peninsular Malaysia, you can visit a number of places like the smaller islands fragmented along the Andaman Sea, Penang, Langkawi Islands, and go right up to the border with Thailand. The Malaysian Borneo area consists of the states of Sabah and Sarawak located in the island of Borneo. The Borneo Island is in the South China Sea. This part of Malaysia is not that well developed, as is the Peninsular Malaysia. The land mass in the east Malaysian sector is better than that in the Peninsular Malaysia. However, there is a lot of geological mining activity taking place in these areas and therefore the area is not well populated with all major and modern amenities.

Kuala Lumpur is famous for the Petronas Towers, which were in the record as the tallest building in the world between 1998 and 2004. It still remains the tallest twin towers in the world today. The first tower is occupied by Petronas and the second tower is available for lease. There are major Companies who have already set shop in the second tower. Access to the various floors is through double Decker lifts where the bottom deck is for the odd number of the floor and the top deck is for the floor on top of the bottom deck. Another important landmark that can be seen in Malaysia is the Subang Jaya. This is a residential township covering a planned 70 square kilometer area and has provisions for some of the best schools, colleges, universities, shopping centers and world-class hospitals and medical facilities. Subang Jaya has a planned outlay and the residential apartments are so well laid out that there can never be a possibility of a major failure from any angle whatsoever. This world-class township was hit by one of the worst storms in March 2006, which damaged several houses in a specific part of the township.

Islam is the chief religion in Malaysia though there is a peaceful co-existence of other religions as well. There are regular prayers conducted throughout the country at regular intervals through mosques. Though the rules of the religion are followed strictly, there is no pressure on the other communities to follow the regulations of Islam in Malaysia.
